This is my first official newsletter. During my past several projects, I have asked “do you want to signup for my newsletter?” and at some point you said yes…so here we are. Thanks for being here.

What will I talk about here? Comics and whatever I feel like talking about. Probably mostly comics (editing, writing, reading), how I put projects together, answering questions if any come in, and anything else that’s worth talking about.

How often are you going to bother me? Maybe once a month, that’s what I’m aiming for, but it will probably be less frequent than that.

Ok, time to get right into it. What am I working on right now? Mostly life’s all about tragic, gay witches.

Put together by me and the wonderful Lifeline Comics team, Kat Calamia & Phil Falco.

This isn’t technically a “gay anthology” but also it is about witches…so yes it is. It is queer-led, and there are a lot of stories featuring LGBTQIA+ creative teams and themes. I wrote a story for this book called “In Her Name” that I co-created with artist Bailie Rosenlund. Here’s some concept art and pencils from the pages in progress, I hope you’ll consider backing the book to check out the full story.

This anthology has a mostly Black creative team, many who identify as LGBTQIA+, some big names from the comics industry…It’s really incredible, we’re excited about what we’ve been making. Check out the show on YouTube and grab the comic to continue the story.

A Good Book: I read Hello Sunshine by Yeezy Young recently, it was terrifying and beautiful. I don’t have a lot of time to read other than what I am reading for work, I’m glad I made the time for this one. Taproot (also by Keezy Young) is usually my default “favorite graphic novel” but I might have to switch that answer now.

An Announcement: Etheres is being reprinted! This is where my “Ringo-nominated” title comes from. I edited this book written by Anas Abdulhak, with art by Dennis Menheere, and letters by DC Hopkins. Working on this was a wonderful experience, Anas is a talented poet and storyteller. After getting the Ringo nom in 2024, I was hoping there would be a way to have this reprinted, and it’s happening now on Kickstarter with new covers and some bonus content.

This is my first one of these things so it’s been very plug-oriented. I had to get that out of the way.

I will wait a while before doing this again!
